CAD Technician– Competitive Salary– Brompton on Swale, North Yorkshire

We are looking for a skilled CAD Technician to join our team and support the delivery of specialist roofing and cladding projects across the UK.

You will work closely with our Estimating and Construction teams to produce clear and accurate technical drawings, material take-offs, and project documentation. Your work will help ensure projects run smoothly from planning through to installation.

This role offers the chance to develop valuable experience in specialist systems including single ply roofing membranes, Safety Line Systems, Green Roofs, and Solar PV installations. With mentoring and training available, it’s a great opportunity to expand your technical knowledge while applying the CAD skills you already have.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating and editing detailed take-off drawings using AutoCAD
• Producing 2D drawings, with occasional 3D elements where required
• Preparing material schedules, quantities, and bills of materials
• Extracting measurements and data from drawings and project specifications
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations based on material schedules
• Checking and updating drawings to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards
• Supporting the preparation of layout plans, sections, elevations, and technical details
• Assisting with drawings related to flat roofing, cladding, Safety Line Systems, Green Roofs, and Solar PV installations

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm (38.5 paid hours per week).

The Person

The ideal CAD Technician will have strong technical ability and a keen eye for detail.

You will need:

• Proven experience using CAD software, particularly AutoCAD
• Strong computer skills within a Windows environment
• Familiarity with common software such as MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• Strong communication skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn
