Project Accountant- $75,000-$85,000 CAD – Remote/ Toronto, GTA

The Role

As our Project Accountant, you will manage the financial side of projects from setup through to completion. Working alongside Project Managers, you will track budgets, monitor costs and ensure financial reporting reflects real project progress.

Because you are involved throughout the project lifecycle, you will gain clear visibility of project performance and profitability. This allows you to provide valuable financial insight that helps teams make informed decisions and keep projects financially on track.

You will also work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, gaining hands-on experience with a modern financial system widely used in project-based organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain projects in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Work with Project Managers to develop and monitor project budgets
• Review project costs and investigate budget variances
• Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) and support revenue recognition
• Prepare project profitability and margin reports
• Support month-end close activities related to projects
• Prepare customer invoices and review vendor invoices
• Support inventory activity linked to projects and assist with commission reporting

The successful Project Accountant will bring strong financial knowledge and excellent organisational skills.

You will also have:

The ideal Project Accountant will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA student status or CPA designation
• Experience in project accounting or project-based finance
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

You should also be comfortable working remotely and able to travel across North America when required.
