Traugott Building Contractors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator to join our growing Health & Safety team.

This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for a recent graduate with a Health & Safety designation or certification who is eager to build a career in the construction industry. The successful candidate will support our national Health & Safety program while learning and gaining exposure to safety regulations and practices across multiple provinces.

This role will be primarily based in our Calgary office, with travel to project sites within Alberta and British Columbia as required 

About the Role

The Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator supports the administration and coordination of Traugott’s Health & Safety Management System by maintaining compliance documentation, assisting with safety systems, and supporting project teams across active construction sites.

This position works closely with the Health & Safety leadership team to ensure documentation, training records, and subcontractor compliance processes are maintained accurately and efficiently. Health & Safety Compliance Coor…

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Support subcontractor compliance and documentation tracking prior to site mobilization
  • Assist in reviewing and maintaining compliance documentation required for site access
  • Maintain compliance logs and documentation to support due diligence and audit readiness

Safety Systems Administration

  • Support administration of digital safety management systems (Salus &Procore) 
  • Maintain training records and certification documentation
  • Assist in maintaining project safety documentation and reporting tools

Training & Certification Tracking

  • Maintain and update employee training matrices
  • Track certification expiry dates and assist with training coordination
  • Support internal reporting and documentation related to employee safety training

Site Safety Support

  • Conduct site visits and safety observations with guidance from the Health & Safety leadership team
  • Assist with site safety assessments and compliance checks
  • Support site teams with documentation and safety program implementation

Health & Safety Program Support

  • Assist with maintaining Health & Safety program documentation
  • Support preparation for COR audits and safety compliance reviews
  • Assist with internal safety communications and documentation updates

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field
  • Recent graduate or early career professional with a Health & Safety certification or designation
  • Strong interest in construction safety and regulatory compliance
  • Basic understanding of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation
  • Willingness to learn Ontario and British Columbia safety regulations
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta
  • Occasional travel required to project sites within Alberta and British Columbia, as applicable 
  • Exposure to construction environments during site visits
  • Appropriate PPE required when attending construction sites
