Product Manager - Competitive Salary - Plano, TX (Hybrid)

Wasp Barcode Technologies is a turnkey provider of inventory and asset tracking systems, offering everything needed for end-to-end management including software, scanners, printers, labels, and tags. For nearly 30 years, Wasp has helped businesses across the world gain visibility, reduce errors, and improve operating efficiency. Whether managing inventory across multiple sites or tracking fixed assets, Wasp delivers scalable, easy-to-use barcode hardware and software.

We are looking for a Product Manager that is eager to own specific products or feature sets and learn all aspects of our product development lifecycle. You must be able to personally contribute by writing clear requirements and guiding the development team in working with our backlog, user stories, and acceptance criteria. You will also be responsible for managing features from conception to release, performing user acceptance testing for engineers, and assisting senior product leadership in planning for future roadmap items.

Accountabilities

  • Translate high-level business goals into actionable user stories and technical requirements and clarify requirements and logic during the sprint cycle
  • Manage the daily backlog and sprint priorities, supporting efficient workflow for the engineering team
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support evolving feature definitions and future capabilities
  • Collaborate on user interactions to enhance future UI/UX capabilities
  • Ensure that new functionality meets internal standards for performance, quality, and scope before release, and hold the team accountable to these standards
  • Support the existing product and customer success teams where appropriate to gather user feedback
  • Passionate about technology and user experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (specifically the ability to translate "business" to "technical" and vice versa)
  • Willingness to collaborate across functional teams

Key Competencies

Requirements

  • Willingness to work in a pragmatic way (sometimes shipping a working "Version 1" feature in 2 weeks is better than a perfect feature that takes 2 months)
  • Demonstrable expertise with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrable expertise with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps)
  • Demonstrable expertise with communication and documentation (writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria)
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. May consider experience in lieu of education.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Wasp Barcode Technologies is committed to ensuring an inclusive work environment where all individuals can thrive. We seek to attract, develop and retain diverse talent who reflect the customers we serve, and we strongly encourage all qualified candidates to apply.

Equal Opportunity Employer
