Key Responsibilities:

Here’s where you’ll make an impact:

• You’ll run the recruitment and onboarding process, helping new hires settle properly so they start off on the right foot and managers see results faster.
• You’ll look after employee files and HR systems, giving you hands-on experience with systems like ADP and JazzHR.
• You’ll manage internal postings and union communications, building strong relationships and understanding how agreements work in real life.
• You’ll support employee relations cases, developing practical investigation and conflict-resolution skills you will use throughout your HR career.
• You’ll help with payroll checks and adjustments, which will sharpen your analytical skills and broaden your HR knowledge.
• You’ll manage compliance tasks and reporting — ideal for someone keen to grow confidence in HR legislation.

The Person

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Sound HR knowledge and experience, ideally in a union setting.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence to deal with sensitive matters.
• Working knowledge of employment law.
• Experience using HRIS systems (ADP and JazzHR are a bonus).
• A calm and friendly approach when dealing with others.
  • If you hold or are working towards SHRM certification, even better — but it’s not essential.
