Part-Time Jewish Rabbi- $50 per hour (working 4 hours per month)– Beaumont, TX

The Role

We are seeking a part-time Rabbi to provide religious services, pastoral care and education for Jewish recruits at the Federal Correctional Complex at Beaumont, TX. You will guide, teach and support individuals in line with Jewish doctrine, while working in a respectful, pluralistic military environment.

This contract will be for a Base Year with four (4) option year periods:

Base Year = Effective Date (Estimated as January 1, 2026) – September 30, 2025

Option Year 1 = October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027

Option Year 2 = October 1, 2027 – September 30, 2028

Option Year 3 = October 1, 2028 – September 30, 2029

Option Year 4 = October 1, 2029 – September 30, 2030

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly services at each facility within the Complex
  • Support Jewish inmates and respond to their religious needs
  • Conduct SHU rounds under staff supervision
  • Share knowledge of core Jewish teachings, festivals, customs, prayer, culture and law
  • Report any behavioural concerns to the Chaplain
  • Follow all security procedures and attend mandatory orientation
  • Provide a Point of Contact for all service-related matters
  • Maintain any equipment or records issued to you
  • Submit required schedules and documentation for payment

The Person

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work with adults from varied backgrounds
  • Confidence engaging with individuals in a correctional environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Jewish festivals, prayer, culture, ritual, law and tradition
  • Professional conduct at all times
  • Eligibility to pass security clearance and orientation
