We’re looking for a Climbing Centre Manager to lead our exciting centre in the heart of Keswick. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations and ensure every guest enjoys a safe, fun and unforgettable experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team across climbing, bouldering, café, escape rooms, and outdoor activities.
  • Manage daily operations including climbing walls, auto-belay lines, bouldering, Krazy Kong kids’ area, café, retail, and escape rooms.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and equipment standards are met across the centre.
  • Handle customer enquiries, memberships, and complaints with professionalism and warmth.
  • Organise events, competitions, and special activities that engage our community.
  • Oversee budgets, financial performance, stock management, and operational reporting.

Nestled in the Lake District, we offer climbing walls, bouldering, kids’ adventures, escape rooms, a café, a retail shop, and outdoor activities like ghyll scrambling, paddleboarding, and hill walking. The Person

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and climbing industry standards.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software (e.g., POS systems)

Qualifications

  • Mountain Leader-CWI-RCI-First Aid.
  • Experience in team management, staff scheduling, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of climbing safety protocols, equipment maintenance and climbing operations.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational and administrative skills; including experience in handling memberships or event planning.
  • Ability to manage budgets and prepare reports.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
