Marine Mechanic – CAD$25 - CAD$29/hour, based on experience + Benefits – LaSalle, Ontario

The Role

Are you an experienced Marine Mechanic ready for year-round work? Do you have the hands-on skills to inspect, service, and repair recreational vessels with precision and independence?

We are hiring a Full-Time Year-Round Marine Mechanic on behalf of our LaSalle, Ontario client. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for someone with solid marine mechanic experience who can start within 2-3 weeks of a job offer. You'll join a skilled team maintaining and repairing a variety of recreational boats in a busy, customer-focused environment.

This position offers 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with extra hours during peak seasons (January-June and October). Preference is given to those available for Saturday mornings or extended weekday hours during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting and servicing inboard, outboard, and ship engines
  • Testing and troubleshooting marine engines and electrical systems
  • Conducting plumbing, intake, hydraulic, and steering system repairs
  • Replacing worn-out or damaged parts
  • Completing accurate service and repair records
  • Communicating with customers about their boats and repair needs

The Person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has hands-on experience working on recreational marine vessels
  • Possesses strong welding skills
  • Understands marine hydraulic and steering systems
  • Can lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team
  • Is reliable and communicates effectively
  • Holds a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number and own transport to get to site

Formal education in marine mechanics is an asset but not required.
