The Role

Established in 1994 and proudly celebrating 30 years in the industry, CLC Utility Services Ltd has built a strong reputation for delivering safe, efficient, high-quality services and turnkey solutions to the utility sector.

We are now looking for an experienced Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to join our small but committed team. While the title covers all areas, this role is mainly Health & Safety focused. You’ll be the lead SHEQ Advisor on a Smart Metering contract, but will also support other contracts when needed

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, your role will help maintain and improve SHEQ performance across all areas of the business. You’ll deliver training, carry out inspections and provide advice and support to operational teams.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday between 0700-1600hrs tbc depending on Client’s hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting 3–5 HSE site inspections per week
  • Office and yard inspections (1 per month)
  • Delivering induction training for new staff
  • Running Emergency First Aid at Work and EUSR National Water Hygiene training (when competent circa 2 per month)
  • Presenting monthly Toolbox Talks (1 per month)
  • Keeping training records updated (Training Matrix, Folders, Certificates)
  • Attending SHEQ forums and internal meetings
  • Standing in for the SHEQ Manager during leave periods
  • Supporting incident reporting and investigation processes
  • Coordinating site inspections and Toolbox Talks via Supervisors
  • Carrying out HSE Induction Training for new staff to the business (1 per week)
  • Support the recording and investigation of Incidents
  • Maintaining the training matrix including, coordinating training, updating records, planning/booking refresher training.

The Person

  • A formal H&S qualification (NEBOSH or NVQ level 3 or higher)
  • Basic understanding of ISO Management Systems.
  • ISO 9001 Qualification (preferred)
  • Ability to present information to groups of people (and make it interesting for them)
  • Ability to complete a task with minimal supervision (with correct attention to detail)
  • Ability to learn and adapt swiftly
  • The attitude to support the SHEQ Manager and Company by actively seeking improvements/tasks when time permits.
