The Role

Are you experienced in guiding spiritual growth within a Christian context? Do you want to help individuals prepare for successful re-entry into their communities?

We are seeking a General Christian Spiritual Guide to provide religious instruction and leadership for Protestant Christian inmates participating in the Residential Life Connections Pre-release Program at the Federal Correctional Complex (Low) in Petersburg, Virginia.

This role offers the opportunity to deliver structured religious and reentry-focused instruction, helping participants deepen their faith while preparing for reintegration into their families and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

         ·         Deliver up to 30 one-hour sessions per week, Monday through Friday, focusing on faith-based and reentry curriculum topics.

         ·         Develop and submit lesson plans aligned with the program’s objectives.

         ·         Encourage participation in journaling, discussion groups, religious tolerance, restorative justice, and victim impact discussions.

         ·         Track and report participant progress quarterly.

         ·         Collaborate with the Chaplain Program Manager and program staff to evaluate participant growth.

         ·         Attend LCP team meetings as needed.

The Person

         ·         A recognized Protestant Christian minister with an ordination certificate and at least three years of continuous, full-time ministry experience.

         ·         A Bachelor’s degree in religious studies, religious education, or a related field (Master of Divinity or Doctorate preferred).

         ·         Preferably, experience teaching in correctional settings or reentry-focused programs.

         ·         Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, reporting, and documentation.

         ·         A commitment to fostering an environment of respect, accountability, and spiritual growth.
