Catholic Music Accompanist- $18.00-$20.00 Per Hour (3-5 hours per week)– Seymour Johnson AFB, Goldsboro, NC

The Role

Are you an experienced pianist with a strong understanding of Catholic liturgical music? Do you have the skills to support a vibrant chapel community through your musical talent?

We are seeking a Skilled Catholic Musician to provide musical support for Catholic services at Seymour Johnson AFB Chapel. This role includes supporting weekly rehearsals, worship services, and special services while ensuring all musical arrangements align with Catholic liturgical standards.

This is a part-time position, working 3-5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide music for Catholic services at Seymour Johnson AFB Chapel
• Support at least one rehearsal and one worship service weekly
• Arrive 20 minutes prior to services and 15 minutes prior to rehearsals
• Play assigned music from suitable ecclesiastical or religious publications
• Arrange, improve, and score music for compatibility with worship services
• Submit requests for needed music program supplies or repairs
• Ensure the security and cleanliness of facilities used, including opening, setting up, restoring to neutral settings, cleaning, and securing after use

The Person

• Has 5+ years of college in music (or related field) or equivalent experience in a chapel or church setting
• Can skillfully play the piano, sight-read, arrange, improve, and score music
• Can play music in keeping with a Catholic service style
• Is fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Can complete a required background check within 20 days of hire, as mandated for those working in environments with children under 18
