The Role

Are you an experienced church musician who loves leading contemporary worship? Can you direct a praise band and bring people together through song?

We’re looking for a dedicated Protestant Musician to support the RAF Mildenhall Chapel community. This role involves musical leadership during weekly services and rehearsals, as well as select special events throughout the year.

You’ll work alongside the Protestant Music Director and Chapel leadership to provide high-quality music for contemporary worship services. This includes:

  • Weekly contemporary service performances
  • Weekly band rehearsals
  • Additional services for holidays and special occasions
  • Collaborating on song selection and planning

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position for 113 units per year (each unit is 1–3 hours including setup and clean-up), averaging 3–5 hours per week.

Ready to bring your musical gifts to a meaningful setting? Send your resume, references, and be prepared for a musical audition. Apply now and become part of our chapel community!

Please note: Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide supporting documents, such as degree certificates, transcripts, and professional certifications.

Position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support a volunteer praise band
  • Plan music in coordination with chapel staff
  • Arrive early to manage setup and stay for post-service clean-up
  • Use chapel-provided equipment and facilities responsibly
  • Coordinate equipment needs and music material requests
  • Ensure safety and security of facilities and volunteers

  • Comfortable using PowerPoint and the internet
  • Willing to complete a background check
  • Must provide two references and pass a live technical audition
