Johnson Company Manufacturers’ Representative is a leading professional manufacturers’ rep firm serving the Midwest. We represent world-class manufacturers in the areas of Sensors & Switches, Interconnects, Power, Wireless, and Electro-Mechanical Solutions, acting as their technical field sales force.

We're currently seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join our team. This is a customer-facing, technical sales role that involves working with OEM clients in the Minnesota market, offering both standard and custom-engineered solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, profile, and pursue new market opportunities and design projects.
  • Provide technical product support and design assistance to OEM customers.
  • Deliver value by understanding customer challenges and applying the right technologies from our extensive line card.
  • Collaborate with internal technical resources and manufacturer personnel on joint sales efforts.
  • Support distribution partners and channel sales efforts within the territory working with our dedicated Distribution Manager.
  • Maintain ongoing customer relationships and manage territory activity.

Who we are looking for:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred (other degrees considered).
  • 2–5 years of experience in electronic or electro-mechanical components or systems.
  • Proven ability to understand technical specifications, design fundamentals, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with similar products within the assigned geography is highly advantageous.
