Protestant Service Musician – $18-$20, commensurate with experience – Charleston AFB , SC 29404

The Role

Are you a gifted musician with experience leading Protestant worship? Would you like to serve a military congregation through music and ministry?

We are hiring a Protestant Service Musician for the Weapons Station Chapel in Goose Creek, SC. This is a part-time role offering 5 hours of weekly engagement with a supportive and active chapel community.

You’ll lead all musical elements of the Protestant worship service held on Sundays. Working alongside the chaplain, you’ll prepare and direct music that reflects the values and vision of the chapel’s mission. You’ll also oversee rehearsals and coordinate musicians as needed.

Your weekly schedule includes both Sunday service (10:00–11:30) and rehearsal time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide live music for weekly Protestant worship services
• Direct rehearsals and help prepare the choir
• Choose appropriate worship music across genres
• Oversee sound equipment before and after services
• Collaborate with the chapel team for seasonal events and services
• Maintain a tidy and organized music space

The Person

• Can read music and direct worship confidently
• Has experience in Protestant church music leadership
• Is reliable, collaborative, and self-managed
• Communicates well with clergy, volunteers, and attendees
• Brings energy and reverence to every service
