Catholic Musician – $18-$20, commensurate with experience – Charleston AFB , SC 29404

The Role

Do you have the musical experience to support Catholic liturgy? Would you enjoy guiding a parish choir and enriching worship through sacred music?

Joint Base Charleston is recruiting a Catholic Musician for the Weapons Station Chapel in Goose Creek, SC. This part-time position requires 5 hours per week, focused on Sunday Mass and rehearsals.

You’ll be responsible for leading the musical component of the weekly Catholic Mass (11:30–13:00). This includes preparing music selections, directing rehearsals, and ensuring all elements run smoothly on the day. You’ll collaborate with the Catholic Chaplain to ensure all music supports the liturgical theme and parish needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide music and accompaniment at Sunday Catholic Mass
• Lead rehearsals and direct volunteer choir members
• Select and prepare music appropriate for the liturgical year
• Set up and pack down sound and musical equipment
• Assist with preparation for Holy Days and seasonal celebrations
• Ensure chapel spaces are left clean and orderly after use

The Person

• Understands Catholic liturgy and can select appropriate music
• Has experience leading choirs and playing liturgical instruments
• Is punctual, dependable, and professional
• Communicates well with chaplains and volunteers
• Brings care and reverence to every Mass
