About the Role

SRL are seeking a commercially minded Business Development Executive who can build strong relationships with all our existing Traffic Management Customers in the UK. Building strong relationships with key personnel in their depot network.

Build strong relationships with all the Traffic Management businesses within the UK focusing on promoting the core SRL products including ReMOS, Portables, Urban 64 & VMS. Supporting the Business Development Director with stakeholder mapping, taking ownership of delivery of products and services to increase market share & turnover. Supporting the Business Development Director with growing our Local Authority relationships focusing on ReMos, Portables, Urban 64 & VMS. Proactively use & identify improvements in process, procedures and activities around CRM usage and pipeline growth.  

Take responsibility for issues and ensure a solution is effectively implemented. Take pride in delivering first-class customer service experience. Take feedback onboard and make any appropriate changes. Accepts full ownership and accountability for their responsibilities   

The role will be based in Solihull, with UK wide travel required. The hours are 42.5 hours per week (8am – 5pm).

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Sales team and provide knowledgeable business development & technical advice to optimise the delivery of Divisional targets
  • Support the Business Development Director to initiate and facilitate change and business improvement activity in line with strategy
  • Support with technical projects and bring VOC to the forefront of our innovations
  • Provide advice and support in marketing campaigns
  • Proactively identify gaps and propose and implement changes necessary to cover risk 
  • Provide advice and support in work reviews and change processes 
  • Updating and maintaining CRM System data 
  • Write and present information briefings on a range of sales-related topics 
  • Help drive employee engagement and positive improvements in terms of culture 
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of CRM systems and practices 
  • Any other responsibilities deemed suitable to the role and where trained to do so 
  • No direct management responsibility, however critical to develop close working relationships with Business Development Director, Utilities Director, Reginal Managers, Research & Development Director, Head of Marketing, key SRL Stakeholders, Finance Team and HR colleagues.
  • May be required to support with people management activity, including but not limited to disciplinary grievance, capability
  • Builds effective working relationships to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Maintains regular meetings with key stakeholders to maximize knowledge of people-related activity whilst keeping up to date with business changes
  • Accurate reporting of sales meeting through CRM & updating pipeline opportunities

Key Skills

Essential:

  • 2 years min experience in Business Development/Sales Experience
  • Competent at mapping all key stakeholders in new & emerging markets
  • Experience in interpreting, advising and implementing business development procedures 
  • Ability to use a CRM system including accessing, inputting and compiling data 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse group 
  • Able to produce insightful reports 
  • Ability to research, analyse and reason logically within tight and conflicting timeframes 
  • Experience working effectively independently and in teams 
  • Experience in providing advice and support to Senior Managers on strategic matters 
  • Experience in supporting positive engagement and cultural improvement initiatives 
  • Able to build positive working relationships 
  • Inherent ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and change in a fast moving, operational environment.
  • Must hold a full UK driving

Desirable:

  • Traffic Management, Logistics or Manufacturing Industry Sales Experience 

Qualifications:

  • A Level or equivalent 
  • MBA or equivalent experience
