The Role

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional looking to kickstart or grow your career in finance? Cult Furniture is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team.

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring timely processing of payments, reconciliations, and assisting in financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and any discrepancies are promptly resolved.
  • Process customer refunds in accordance with company policy, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Reconcile debtor accounts and resolve any discrepancies between customer records and the company’s accounts.
  • Accurately post supplier invoices into the accounting system, ensuring all entries are correct and processed in a timely manner.
  • Perform reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare daily sales reports for management, providing a clear overview of sales performance and key metrics.
  • Handle queries from suppliers and customers regarding invoicing, payments, and account balances, providing prompt and efficient resolutions.
  • Reconcile accounts payable to ensure that payments to suppliers are accurate and made within agreed terms.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of company credit card transactions, ensuring that all expenses are properly recorded and supported by receipts.
  • Provide support to the finance team with other accounting tasks and ad-hoc duties as required.

The Person

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organised and proactive with a strong ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
