Catholic Religious Education Coordinator – $18-$23 p/h – Scott, IL (AFB)

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated catholic Religious Education Coordinator to implement and oversee a comprehensive religious education program in line with the guidelines provided by the Priest, Air Force Chaplain Corps, and the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS).

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $18.00-$23.00, under a 5-year contract as a 1099 contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the catholic religious education program according to established guidelines.

  • Serve as the primary resource advisor for the community's catholic religious education.

  • Recruit and maintain a team of catechists and volunteers, ensuring their certification and training.

  • Develop and manage the annual budget and ministry plan.

  • Attend and contribute to pastoral council meetings and other relevant gatherings.

  • Stay updated on religious curriculum and teaching methodologies.

  • Ensure compliance with ecclesiastical, canonical, and liturgical norms.

The Person

  • AMS certified (or willing to obtain certification within one year).

  • At least one year of experience in coordinating religious education.

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, education, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proficient in catholic religious education and liturgical practices.

  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
