Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and customs requirements.
  • Customs Brokerage: Oversee customs brokerage processes, manage compliance, and coordinate with customs brokers and authorities for smooth clearance.
  • HTS & ECCN Classification: Accurately classify products to maintain compliance with export control regulations.
  • Audit & Risk Mitigation: Conduct internal audits, manage risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance and optimize processes.
  • Training & Development: Lead training initiatives, providing teams with the knowledge to adhere to trade compliance regulations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, logistics, finance, and external partners to support compliance with trade agreements.
  • Strategic Leadership: Drive trade compliance strategy, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve trade flows.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, ensuring documentation is audit-ready and compliance reports are delivered to management.

The Person

  • Licensed Customs Broker (essential).
  • Degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in trade compliance within manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in HTS classification, ECCN, and U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is advantageous.
