The Role

Paws en route is a premier pet transportation service that prides itself on ensuring the utmost care, safety, and comfort for pets during their journeys. As a Sales Specialist, you'll serve as the bridge between pet owners and our exceptional travel services. Your expertise in sales combined with your empathy for pet owners will make you an invaluable asset to our team. While you don't need prior experience in pet travel, your genuine concern for pets and their well-being will set you apart.

This is initially an independent contractor position, 40 hours per week with competitive compensation. Paws intention is to move this role to an employment contract within 3 months.

Only Canadian-based candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Starting with qualified, inbound leads, engage in meaningful conversations with potential customers to assess their pet travel needs.
  • Offer insights into the travel process, documentation, and other related inquiries.
  • Generate and provide accurate travel quotes, ensuring all customer questions are answered.
  • Seal the deal! Finalize sales and oversee the payment process.
  • Seamlessly transition the customer to our Operations team, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the subsequent stages of the pet's journey.
  • Track and monitor finalized sales to guarantee a flawless travel experience for every pet.
  • Lend a helping hand to team members when necessary.

The Person

  • A seasoned salesperson with a flair for understanding and empathizing with pet owners.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain the same level of excellent service across multiple customer interactions.
  • Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Resilient, adaptive, and eager to tackle challenges head-on.
  • Technologically savvy, with a knack for quickly mastering new systems and processes.
  • Genuine concern for the welfare of pets and a commitment to ensuring their safe and pleasant travel experience.
