The Role

We are a manufacturer of components and assemblies for the global automotive supply chain industry, looking to appoint an adept Senior Human Resources Generalist to our growing team.
You will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management and administration of human resource policies, processes and procedures. Your contributions will directly impact our company's success by ensuring the efficient functioning of our HR operations and the well-being of our employees.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Payroll and Benefits Administration, and act as a back-up when required.
- Support Integrated Management System in areas of Training, Recruitment, Performance Review, Health & Safety, Personal Administration, Research (HR projects), Orientation of new employees, Plex maintenance, documents and file management and other ad hoc tasks and assignments.
- Responsible for training process: Verify licenses & certificates (Forklift, Scissor lift, Overhead Crane and First Aid), check expiration dates, coordinate with external training companies (check training calendar) or internal trainers, verify training dates with supervisors/workers, schedule training and keep records using the Training Matrix.
- Maintain records in electronic and physical employee files, keep a binder with the training record sign sheets.
- Participate in the development of the training system, work with directors and supervisors/managers.
- Support the recruitment process including ensuring job descriptions are complete, job postings, contacting potential applicants for pre-screening, participating in interviews, conducting reference checks and creating employment contracts, and working with recruitment agencies.
- Distribute pay stubs when it is necessary following Payroll Administrator instructions.
- Create plant postings and maintain updated HR communication boards.
- Maintain revisions to the employee handbook.
- Participate in the development of HR Projects with the Senior Managers. OneNote, PLEX and I: drive (HR section)
- Respond to employee inquiries when required (open door policy).
- Maintain and enhance a positive employee relations environment through plants visits.
- Coordinate company events.
- Other assigned duties.

The Person
- Post graduate Human Resources education OR experience in a related field preferred. CHRP designation.
- Demonstrates exemplary knowledge and hands-on experience with Recruitment, Training, Progressive Discipline and Health and Safety matters.
- Demonstrates proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Power Point, Internet, and other related media packages.
- Knowledge and experience using ADP Payroll System, can fill-in as necessary.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, detail oriented, excellent judgement and independence.
- Experience with Employment Law, Onboarding and Terminations.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislative requirements relating to OHSA, ESA, and WSIB.
- Knowledge in the area of Sustainability (Human Rights, Business Ethics, Environmental)
- Familiar with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards an asset.
- Must have own transportation.
