Project Manager - Construction – $120,000–$140,000 - Calgary, Alberta

The Role

Traugott Building Contractors Inc. is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Calgary team. You’ll take charge of projects across commercial, residential, retail, and institutional sectors. Reporting to the Director of Construction, you will oversee every phase of the project, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Plan & Prepare

  • Lead project startup and pre-construction planning.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Develop execution plans, schedules, and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate consultants, permits, and approvals.
  • Manage subcontractor tendering and scope reviews.

Lead & Deliver

  • Direct project teams and support site Superintendents.
  • Manage client, consultant, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Run project meetings and keep communication clear.
  • Monitor progress and take swift action to resolve issues.

Financial & Contract Oversight

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Oversee procurement and subcontract administration.
  • Approve purchase orders, change orders, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Quality, Safety & Closeout

  • Champion safety and quality on every project.
  • Conduct reviews and implement improvements.
  • Lead turnover, warranties, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure smooth client handover and satisfaction.

The Person

  • 8–15 years construction experience, with 5+ years in project management
  • Proven success in ICI and multi-family projects ($5M–$100M+)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
  • Proficient in Procore and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Degree/diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Preferred certifications: Gold Seal, PMP, CSTS 2020, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS
