The Role

Could you lead a creative marketing strategy that helps change young lives at sea? Are you an experienced manager confident across digital, PR and events?

Tall Ships Youth Trust is a national charity supporting young people through life-changing experiences at sea. We're looking for a versatile Digital, Engagement and Marketing Manager to join us for a 12-month maternity cover contract.

You'll lead our multi-channel marketing and engagement strategy to raise awareness, increase participation in our youth sailing programmes, and grow our supporter base. You will manage a small team and collaborate across departments to deliver engaging campaigns, effective design, and memorable events.

If you’re ready to make an impact through your marketing skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead our marketing and digital engagement strategy
  • Manage our communications calendar across channels
  • Design and produce marketing materials and event collateral
  • Maintain and develop our website, including SEO and analytics
  • Oversee digital campaigns via social media, email, and advertising
  • Generate PR opportunities and manage media relationships
  • Lead event marketing and promotion
  • Line manage the Marketing and Content Lead

Company:

We’re a national youth development and outdoor learning charity that supports young people, particularly those facing disadvantage, to develop essential life skills. We take young people aged 12-25 on residential youth sailing voyages onboard iconic yachts.

Out on the water, under sail, they learn lessons that set them up for life and help them to realise their true potential. To support our mission, we also run a programme of adventure voyages for adults that directly subsidise our highly effective youth development programme.

We have a vision of a society where the exclusion of young people and a lack of opportunities for them are things of the past. Together with our supporters, we are doing everything we can to help young people from all over the UK stand taller than ever before.

Benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service
  • 30-minute daily wellbeing break
  • Casual dress and discounted local parking
  • Time at sea aboard our vessels
  • Death in service cover

The Person

  • 5+ years' marketing experience, including 2+ in a management role
  • Proven skills in digital marketing, PR and event planning
  • Confident in using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with WordPress, Mailchimp, and social media ad platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills
  • A genuine interest in helping young people reach their potential
