Staff Accountant – $60k - $65k per year + Benefits – Buffalo, NY

The Role

Are you proficient in managing accounts payable and receivable functions with precision? Do you possess the necessary experience to oversee month-end and year-end accounting closings efficiently? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of accounting tasks, requiring attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Oversee month-end and year-end accounting closings.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
• Reconcile bank account balances accurately.
• Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures.
• Handle banking relationships efficiently.
• Provide support to offsite Accountants as required.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
• Correspond with past due accounts for collections.
• Gather credit information for new account approvals.

The Person

• Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.
• BS in Accounting preferred.
• Three to five years of full charge accounting experience.
• Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Office including Word. Outlook and Excel.
• Must have the ability to prepare journal entries to facilitate the completion of monthly consolidated financial statements as well as perform accounting analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
