Accounts Payable Specialist – Torrance, CA - $19-$24/hour + Excellent benefits

The Role

Do you have a keen eye for detail and experience in managing financial transactions? Are you confident in handling all aspects of an accounts payable system? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will ensure the smooth processing of our financial operations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and resolving discrepancies efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and distribute incoming mail and invoices
  • Match invoices to supporting documentation and verify accuracy before processing
  • Enter A/P data accurately into the system, ensuring correct G/L coding
  • Reconcile batch totals with invoice amounts
  • Print and distribute checks, both manual and computerized
  • Research and resolve issues related to returned checks
  • Process requests for voids and stop payments
  • Maintain the vendor master list, including 1099 data
  • Resolve discrepancies with vendors and assist field office personnel
  • Keep A/P files organized and up to date
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager
  • Adhere to mandated reporting requirements.

The Person

  • College-level accounting courses required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience with Sage 100 or Acumatica is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
