Part-time Bookkeeper – £15 per hour / £120 per week + Benefits – Manchester

The Role

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper with excellent knowledge of QuickBooks? Can you manage a busy set of accounts while supporting a junior team member?

SBS Audio Visual is a growing audio-visual company based in Trafford Park, Manchester, and we're looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to join us one day per week in the office.

You'll take charge of our day-to-day financial operations, working closely with our accounts assistant and liaising with external accountants. You'll help ensure everything runs smoothly—from VAT returns and payroll to supplier payments and debt chasing.

This is a part-time role with one day per week required in our Trafford Park office. There may be opportunities to increase your hours or move to remote working in future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and reconcile quarterly VAT returns
• Manage payment runs and ensure all invoices are processed promptly
• Reconcile bank transactions and supplier statements
• Chase overdue payments and follow up with debtors
• Oversee employee overtime, holidays, sick leave, and timesheets
• Submit payroll data to external accountants
• Supervise the accounts assistant and ensure deadlines are met
• Liaise with our accountants for VAT, PAYE and annual accounts

The Person

We're looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience in a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper role
• Is highly proficient with QuickBooks
• Understands UK accounting principles and VAT
• Has great attention to detail and strong organisation skills
• Can manage their workload independently
• Communicates clearly with both internal and external teams

Bonus points if you:

• Are AAT qualified or part-qualified
• Have experience in the audio-visual or events industry
• Have previously supervised junior staff
