We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Assistant/ Trainee Accountant to join our team. This varied role will offer you hands-on experience across all areas of the finance function, with training provided to support your growth. For those interested in formal qualifications, we offer study support for ACCA and AAT, helping you advance as your skills and knowledge develop.

Please note: This is a full-time, in-office position, ideally within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities:

The following are the key duties falling within the above job purpose and job title – not an exhaustive list of duties

• Providing bookkeeping and VAT support using a variety of software packages including Sage, Xero and Quickbooks
• Assisting with the payroll bureau as and when required
• Assisting with the preparation of accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Practice administration using Practice Management software
• Providing general administrative assistance and reception cover when required
• Assisting with Audits as required

The Person

• Educated to at least A-level or equivalent but preference will be given to candidates who have commenced their accountancy training at AAT level with UK practice experience.
• Excel skills.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently with an eye for detail.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual.
• Effective time management to ensure deadlines are met.
• To work well as part of a team, whilst taking responsibility for own tasks.
• Applicants qualified by experience will also be considered, and there is no obligation for a candidate with experience to complete further qualifications.
