Coordinator of Religious Education – Protestant Faith Group

Quantico Marine Base, Virginia | $18–$20/hour (1099 contract)

The Role

The Protestant Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) is responsible for delivering an enriching religious education experience across all age groups, in partnership with the Protestant Chaplain at Quantico. This includes Sunday School, youth groups, Bible studies, seasonal events, and Vacation Bible School.

This contract aligns with the academic year and requires flexible scheduling around the chapel calendar.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Protestant Sunday School and Bible Study programs

• Coordinate annual schedules, curriculum selection, and classroom materials

• Recruit, vet, and train volunteers to teach and assist

• Organize youth ministry, marriage preparation classes, and seasonal activities

• Collaborate with the Catholic CRE on joint events like Vacation Bible School

• Maintain program records, registration lists, attendance, and after-action reports

• Submit an annual educational plan and event calendar to the Protestant Chaplain

The Person

• Strong grounding in Protestant theology and a broad understanding of denominational needs

• Preferred: theological education or Christian education background

• Experience planning and leading Christian education programs

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Able to work with volunteers, families, and youth with sensitivity and care

• Must pass background checks and meet base access requirements
