The Role

Are you experienced in coordinating faith-based programmes and confident leading a team of volunteers? Do you have a strong foundation in the Protestant Christian faith and a background in religious education? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for a skilled Religious Education Coordinator to lead and develop our Protestant Religious Education (RE) programme.

This is a key leadership role responsible for planning, organising, and overseeing a variety of Protestant Religious Education activities. You'll work closely with chapel leadership and volunteers to ensure programmes run smoothly and meet the needs of the community.

This is a contracted part-time position working at least 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, advertise, and monitor Protestant RE activities
  • Support the evaluation and improvement of RE programmes
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers for all RE events and activities
  • Manage logistics such as facilities, supplies, publicity, and transportation
  • Coordinate the annual RE calendar with chapel staff and programme leaders
  • Oversee annual events such as Children’s RE, Bible Studies, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and RE Kickoff Picnic
  • Maintain an up-to-date volunteer list, including roles and training records
  • Ensure programme areas are properly set up, cleaned, and returned to original condition

The Person

         ·         A clear connection to the Protestant Christian faith and a record of active involvement

         ·         Competence in religious education, either through academic study (24 credit hours), formal training, or relevant ministry experience (minimum two years)

         ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher

         ·         Experience working with volunteers and coordinating events

         ·         A professional, friendly manner and strong organisational skills

         ·         Willingness to undergo a background check (essential for working with children)
