Are you an experienced Project Manager with strong MEPF knowledge in active operational environments? Can you manage complex building systems from design through commissioning while keeping safety, schedule, and performance on track?
The role
PMCS Group, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager II / TDIP Assistant Project Manager (MEPF) to support the Terminal Development and Improvement Program at LAX.
Reporting to the assigned Senior Project Manager, you will manage the scope, schedule, cost, and operational interfaces for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty systems. This role will support design and construction activities within an assigned TDIP project.
This is a full-time, salaried, Monday to Friday position based in the office or on the project site at LAX. This is not a work-from-home role.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Act as the main technical liaison for MEPF systems
- Manage MEPF design scope and align it with operational requirements
- Lead technical evaluations of consultants, contractors, and vendors
- Oversee installation, testing, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities
- Develop and manage budgets, schedules, resource plans, and performance metrics
- Coordinate with stakeholders to reduce operational disruption
- Identify and resolve technical, constructability, and system integration issues
- Review RFIs, submittals, technical change proposals, and pay applications
- Coordinate system shutdowns, tie-ins, and phasing plans
- Maintain documentation for design criteria, testing, commissioning, closeout, as-builts, O&M manuals, training, warranties, and readiness reporting

The person
You will bring:
- 10+ years of experience managing MEP systems design and construction
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure; airport experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, utilities, fire protection, life safety, BAS, controls, and power monitoring systems
- Experience with commissioning, system turnover, and integration
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and BIM coordination tools
- Experience with Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and Design-Build delivery methods
- A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or a related technical field
- A master’s degree is preferred
- Relevant certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, or AICP are helpful
You may be required to work after hours, weekends, past regular shifts, or various shifts as needed. Transportation to and from the LAX worksite is the consultant’s responsibility.
