Sports Assistant – September 2026 One Year Fixed Term (September 2026 – August 2027) Edgbaston, Birmingham Actual Annual Salary: £24,200 per annum Hours: 40 hrs per week (08:30 -17:00, with a 30-minute unpaid break) with flexibility to work beyond 17:00 to support with fixtures. Working Weeks: 41 weeks per year (35 term time weeks including INSET days, plus 6 additional weeks to support with holiday club). The Role We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and confident Sports Assistant keen to support children in their physical education. Under the direction of the Head of PE, Sports & Physical Wellbeing, you will provide support to the Sports and PE Department in the delivery of all aspects of the PE and games curriculum including assisting with lessons; clubs; practices and fixtures for Year 1 to 9 pupils. Hallfield School is a flourishing co-educational independent day school (3 months –14 years) in the leafy and attractive outskirts of Edgbaston. The post would be particularly appropriate for a candidate who is contemplating a career in an education setting or as a sports coach. With a positive and flexible disposition and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning, the successful candidate will be child focused, professional and approachable with a strong focus on team work and a willingness to get involved and support the wider school as required.
