Catholic Religious Education Coordinator – $18-$20, commensurate with experience - Dyess Air Force Base, Texas

The Role

Do you have experience leading Catholic Religious Education programs? Are you ready to support a thriving chapel community in a unique Air Force environment?

We are seeking a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to support the Catholic community at the Dyess Air Force Base Chapel in Texas. This position is part-time 1099 contract, averaging 13 hours per week, and works closely with the Catholic Priest to plan, organize, and deliver a full range of Religious Education (RE) activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee Catholic Religious Education programs for children, youth, and adults.
  • Organize sacramental preparation programs, parent classes, and youth ministry activities.
  • Prepare annual calendars, budgets, and reports in coordination with the Catholic Priest.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers and assistants.
  • Schedule and coordinate facilities, events, and special celebrations.
  • Maintain records of attendance, activities, and program outcomes.
  • Provide training, resources, and support to catechists and assistants.
  • Attend parish advisory meetings and chapel financial working groups as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Air Force and diocesan policies and guidelines.

The Person

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Religious Education leadership within a Catholic parish.
  • Be a certified catechist or have equivalent teaching experience.
  • Communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Successfully complete federal and local background checks.
