Coordinator of Religious Education – Catholic Faith Group

Quantico Marine Base, Virginia | $18–$20/hour (1099 contract)

The Role

The Catholic Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) plays a vital part in supporting the spiritual development of military families at Quantico. Under the direction of the Catholic Chaplain (Director of Religious Education), you’ll manage all aspects of the Catholic religious education program, including sacramental preparation, curriculum planning, and volunteer coordination.

This is a flexible contract role aligned with the academic year, with duties scheduled in cooperation with the Chapel and Chaplain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all Catholic religious education activities (Pre-K through Confirmation and RCIA)

  • Organize and lead sacramental parent meetings, rehearsals, and receptions

  • Coordinate youth ministry, retreats, and seasonal events like Vacation Bible School

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer catechists

  • Support home-schooling families with approved resources and guidance

  • Maintain registration, calendars, attendance, and progress records

  • Submit annual education plans and budgets to the Catholic Chaplain

  • Assist with sacramental notifications and maintain compliance with AMS requirements

The Person

  • Certified or eligible AMS Catechist with strong Catholic theological knowledge

  • Familiar with OCIA, Vatican II teachings, and sacramental education

  • Experienced in managing educational programs and coordinating volunteers

  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and basic administrative duties

  • Must pass background checks and complete base access requirements
