Stock Controller – Competitive Salary – Wolverhampton, West Midlands

The Role

We are looking for a Stock Controller to contribute to the team in a professional and honest manner and take responsibility for the management of all stock and stores in the business. This includes the receipt and checking of incoming goods and equipment; safe and orderly storage of all goods and equipment in the warehouse; the dispatch of all goods and services from the warehouse; and the management of all couriers used and to be responsible for monthly stock checks and management.

You will also take responsibility for the security management of the Four Ashes premises and deputise for the Purchase Ledger raising Purchase Orders and receipting of deliveries on SAGE in the event of holidays and absence. The key performance indicators of a Stock Controller include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safe, orderly and traceable storage of all goods and equipment in the warehouse
  • Ensuring all deliveries are received, receipted and stored on the day of delivery
  • Ensuring all dispatches of goods and equipment are made correctly and in the necessary timescales
  • Tracking all deliveries to ensure that they are all successful and where failures occur to be responsible for resolution
  • Undertaking stock takes on the days stipulated
  • Maintaining an accurate issue log for all late, missed or damaged deliveries
  • Ensuring effective and professional housekeeping of the warehouse areas

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Stock Controller:

  • Experience of basic IT/ office package knowledge essential and knowledge of SAGE software desirable but with training provided
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently to all staff, customers and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills, using them to motivate and engage staff, customers and stakeholders
  • A “Customer Champion”, making sure every action directly or indirectly benefits customers
  • Strong relationship management abilities, valuing and investing appropriately in all relationships
  • A results-oriented individual, ensuring strategies and targets are clear, appropriate and achieved
  • Self-motivated and responsible for your own time management and personal performance
