Production Operative – up to £18,500 DOE + Benefits – Rochdale, UK

The Role

An exciting role has opened up at Wireless CCTV for a capable and experienced Production Operative to build, test and despatch orders at our company headquarters based in Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity to develop both personally and professionally with a company that has a proven track record of developing staff.

The key responsibilities of a Production Operative include, but are not limited to:

  • Testing and despatching products to a high standard, ensuring orders are fulfilled within the KPI timescales
  • Programming and assembly of products down to a PCB board level
  • Logging and reporting stats daily, weekly, and monthly to the Production Team Leader
  • Ensuring all processes are followed as per quality manuals
  • Working with the Stock Controller and/or the Procurement Team to ensure stock shortages are dealt and guarantee the delivery of orders
  • Assisting with all areas of work in the Engineering hub during busy periods
  • Assisting in the implementation of improvements wherever possible to reduce costs and improve time efficiency
  • Adhering to the working practices of the Engineering hub at all times

The key skills and qualities of a Production Operative are:

  • Experience with hand tools; soldering irons is preferred
  • Benchwork background preferred; PCB assembly and programming, soldering
  • Must have basic PC experience
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with clients and fellow colleagues
  • A strong team player that is able to work as part of a team
  • Hard-working, dedicated and attentive in every aspect of their work
